Most litter box cabinets are built around one box size. Then the box you already own does not fit, or your Maine Coon has no room to turn. We start from your cat and your box, then draw the furniture around them.
For an average cat the box is about 70 x 50 cm, and the compartment around it 10 cm bigger in each direction. The cat door is 20 cm round, or 24 cm for large breeds. The rest of the piece is cupboards, drawers or a seat.

- Ventilation slots at the back and in the plinth, so odour does not build up inside.
- Cleaning
- A front door or a pull-out tray, so the box comes out without bending into the cabinet.
- Floor
- A washable lining in the compartment and a felt-lined step that catches litter from the paws.
- Storage
- A drawer or cupboard next to the box for litter, bags and the scoop.

Our rule: the litter box is about 1.5 times the length of the cat, up to 75 cm, about the largest box sold. The compartment adds 10 cm all round. Sizes for the larger cat of each breed. We check the numbers against your own cat.
