We build in Tomislavgrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and deliver to your door. This is what comes on top of the price of the piece.

How your piece travels

Crated and insured: Every piece travels crated and insured to your door.
Assembled: Pieces arrive assembled or with two bolts to fit.
Payment: A 40% deposit starts the build. The balance is paid before dispatch.
Photos: You get photos from the bench while your piece is built.

Tax and customs

No customs duty into the EU: Bosnia and Herzegovina is outside the EU. Furniture we build still enters the EU free of customs duty with the proof of origin we supply.
Import VAT: Import VAT applies on arrival, 19% in Germany and 20% in Austria. It is charged on the price of the piece plus transport. Our prices do not include it. The carrier may add a small clearance fee.
Switzerland: Since 1 January 2024 Switzerland charges no customs duty on industrial goods, furniture included. Swiss VAT of 8.1% applies, plus the carrier's clearance fee. We price delivery to Switzerland for your address.
A den without a door: In Switzerland dogs may not be shut in crates, and a crate used as a resting place must not have a door that closes. For Switzerland we therefore recommend an open den without a door.

An example: A side table with a den from €1,150, delivered to Germany: €1,150 plus about €290 delivery, then 19% import VAT on both, about €274. About €1,714 in all. You get the fixed price with the drawing.

Questions

Do you deliver to Switzerland?

Yes. There has been no customs duty on furniture since 2024. You pay Swiss VAT of 8.1% and the carrier's clearance fee. We quote delivery with the price.

Do I have to assemble it?

No. It arrives assembled or with two bolts to fit.

Who handles customs?

We supply the proof of origin and the papers. With the quote we tell you how the import VAT is paid in your case.

Made by a furniture company, not a pet shop

Barkitecture is the dog and cat furniture line of our family furniture company, Sweet Home, in Tomislavgrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has made furniture since 2003. The same workshop builds kitchens and furniture for homes in Germany, on the same machines and with the same Blum hardware.
