What sets the price

Size: A den for a Great Dane uses four times the material of one for a Dachshund. Size is the biggest factor.
Finish: Over 350 wood, colour and stone finishes. Most cost the same, some stone looks and special colours cost more.
Fittings: Every drawer, door, feeding drawer or slatted door adds hardware and work.
Cushions: Cushions and mattresses come in different fabrics. An orthopedic mattress costs more than a cushion.
Delivery: Crated and insured to your door, about €290 to Germany and Austria.

What is included, and what comes on top

The price includes the scaled drawing, the piece built to your sizes with Blum hardware, photos from the workshop while it is built, and the crating.

Delivery and import VAT come on top. We build in Bosnia and Herzegovina, outside the EU. There is no customs duty with our proof of origin. You pay import VAT on delivery, 19% in Germany and 20% in Austria, and the carrier may add a small clearance fee.

An example: Credenza at its smallest size costs from €2,650. With about €290 delivery and around €559 import VAT, the total in Germany is about €3,499. We give the exact amount with your quote.

Compared with the alternatives

Ready-made crate furniture sells for about €100-400 in fixed sizes. Designer crates in standard sizes cost about €1,000-1,900.

Made to measure costs about what designer furniture does, but you get your own dog's size, your wall's measurements and your room's finish. The full comparison.

Questions about price

Is the drawing free?

Yes. You get the drawing and a fixed price within 48 hours, free and without obligation. You pay nothing until you approve the drawing.

Why is there no fixed shop price?

Because every piece is built for one pet and one room. A sideboard for a Dachshund needs less material than one for a Great Dane. The prices here are for the smallest size in the standard finish, and the builder shows an estimate for your own design.

Will I pay customs duty?

Not in the EU. Furniture made in Bosnia enters the EU duty free with the proof of origin we supply. Import VAT applies on arrival, 19% in Germany and 20% in Austria, and the carrier may add a small clearance fee. For the UK and Switzerland we confirm the costs with your quote.

How do I pay?

A 40% deposit when you approve the drawing and the balance before dispatch, by bank transfer. The price is fixed once the drawing is approved.

Made by a furniture company, not a pet shop

Barkitecture is the dog furniture line of our family furniture company in Tomislavgrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sweet Home, making furniture since 2003. The same workshop builds kitchens and furniture for homes in Germany, on the same machines and with the same Blum hardware.

The workshop

Kitchens for Germany: We already build and ship kitchens and furniture to homes in Germany. Your dog's piece is made with the same care.
You talk to the maker: Your questions go straight to David, who runs the workshop. Call or WhatsApp +387 63 050 308.
The drawing before any money: You see the drawing and the fixed price before you pay anything. The deposit only starts the build.

Send us your dog. We will send the drawing.
