Notes on the drawing
Monolith stands next to the sofa or the bed and does the job of a side table. Inside is a quiet, felt-lined den with an arched door. Dogs are den animals. A small covered space with one way in is where many of them sleep best.
- A real table top
- A 3 cm top in a travertine or wood finish. It takes a lamp, a coffee cup and a stack of books.
- Wool felt lining
- Natural wool felt on the inside walls softens sound and keeps the den warm. It is fixed with magnets and lifts out for cleaning.
- Washable cushion
- A memory foam core in a zipped linen or boucle cover. The cover goes in the washing machine at 40 degrees.
- Hidden airflow
- Slots in the back panel and a gap under the floating plinth keep air moving. You do not see them from the room.
- Optional door
- A slatted door on soft-close hinges for dogs that are crate trained. Left off by default.

Breeds we build it for
When it is not the right choice
Large breeds. Above about 45 cm at the shoulder the block gets too big to live as a side table. Look at Credenza or Pavilion instead.
