What a Maine Coon needs
Maine Coons are one of the largest domestic breeds and keep growing until three or four years old. Most standard litter boxes are too short for them. We size the compartment for the adult cat, not the kitten, and fit a 24 cm door. Their long coat can carry litter out of the box, so a mat or step inside the cabinet helps. Shelves need to be deep and firmly fixed for a cat this heavy.
- Litter compartment
- 85 x 65 x 65 cm inside, for a box up to 75 x 55 cm.
- Cat cave
- About 80 x 65 x 60 cm inside.
- Bowls
- Rim about 15 cm off the floor.
- Cat wall
- Steps about 25 cm apart.
